Welcome to IPR - Intelligent Process Automation and Robotics Lab

The IPR is a research lab within the Institute for Anthropomatics and Robotics (IAR) and is part of the KIT Department of Informatics
IPR
Research Fields

At IPR (Intelligent Process Automation and Robotics Lab), a young team of scientists works on current research issues in machine learning for robotics, safe human-robot collaboration, path planning and control for robots as well as medical robotics. The application domains we cover in doing so range from industrial through household to clinical contexts.

Education

IPR can look back on over 40 years of experience in teaching. In addition to established foundations, e.g. in the field of real-time systems, our lectures focus on future issues such as Industry 4.0 or Reinforcement Learning. With a large variety of laboratories, (pro-)seminars and thesis offers, we build a bridge between theory and practice.

Innovation Transfer

Linking research with the industrial and medical practice in robotics, is one of the outstanding characteristics of IPR.

Their knowledge about real-world problems already enabled a large number of graduates from IPR to sustainably start their own businesses.
